Type: Part-Time

Waypoint Detailed Delivery is a fast-growing logistics company specializing in time-sensitive transportation within the food and agriculture industry. Our team plays a critical role in protecting public health by safely delivering product samples to laboratories for testing. Headquartered in the Midwest, Waypoint has expanded operations nationwide and continues to build its presence across the country.

The Part-Time Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing first-level technical support to employees while coordinating and delivering onboarding and systems training for new hires. This role ensures employees have the technology, access, and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively from their first day of employment. The ideal candidate is patient, organized, customer-service oriented, and comfortable explaining technical concepts to users with varying levels of experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

IT Help Desk

· Provide first-level technical support for computers, mobile devices, printers, and other company technology.

· Assist employees with password resets, account access, and multi-factor authentication.

· Set up, configure, and deploy computers, monitors, mobile devices, and peripherals for new hires.

· Install and update approved software applications.

· Troubleshoot hardware, software, email, network, and connectivity issues.

· Escalate complex technical issues to outside vendors or senior IT resources when appropriate.

· Maintain inventory of company technology equipment and accessories.

· Document support requests, resolutions, and recurring issues.

· Assist with technology upgrades, equipment replacements, and office moves.

· Support conference room technology and video conferencing equipment as needed.


New Hire Training

· Coordinate technology setup prior to employee start dates.

· Conduct new hire orientation on company technology systems and equipment.

· Train employees on company software, communication platforms, timekeeping systems, and basic technology best practices.

· Develop and maintain training materials, user guides, and reference documents.

· Evaluate employee understanding and provide additional coaching when necessary.

· Assist with updates to training programs as systems and procedures evolve.

· Partner with Human Resources and department managers to ensure a positive onboarding experience.


Administrative Responsibilities

· Maintain confidentiality of employee information and company systems.

· Create and update standard operating procedures related to technology and onboarding.

· Monitor technology-related training needs and recommend improvements.

· Assist with special projects as assigned.


Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.

· One or more years of experience in an IT help desk, technical support, training, or related role.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365, email systems, printers, and mobile devices/mobile applications.

· Experience creating written training materials and instructional guides.

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, user-friendly manner.

· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for travel between company locations.

· Experience supporting a multi-location/multi-state organization.

· Experience training adult learners.

Work Environment

Work is performed primarily in an office environment with periodic travel to company facilities. The position may occasionally require work outside normal business hours to support onboarding, technology implementations, or urgent technical issues.
