About the Job:

The practice of mammography is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Independently performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam.

What You'll Do:

  • Performs mammography procedures based on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) "Mammography Practice Standards" and the ASRT "Code of Ethics"
  • Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols
  • Actively participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the "APIE" model.
  • Performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam
  • Performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam
  • Assists the interpreting physician as directed when involved with diagnostic procedures in breast imaging

Who You Are:

  • Successful completion of an accredited Radiological Technologist program, Required
  • 3-5 years of experience as a radiologic technologist, Preferred
  • Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Required.
  • Certified by ARRT in Mammography, Required
  • Ability to obtain BLS during employment
