Job description

Premier Staffing Unlimited is seeking a reliable Part-Time Maintenance Technician to support general upkeep and repairs at a commercial/residential facility. This role is similar in scope to apartment-style maintenance work; however, this is not an apartment complex. The Maintenance Technician will perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and general facility support to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs, including:
  • Basic plumbing (leaks, fixtures, toilets, sinks)
  • Basic electrical (light fixtures, outlets, switches)
  • Drywall repair, patching, and painting
  • Door, lock, and hardware repairs
  • Flooring repairs (vinyl, tile, carpet patching)
  • Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment and facility downtime
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain outdoor areas as needed (minor landscaping, pressure washing, debris removal)
  • Coordinate with management on repair priorities and supply needs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of general maintenance or handyman experience leading toward apartment-style maintenance
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and general repair tasks
  • Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in facilities maintenance, commercial buildings, or manufacturing environments
  • HVAC, appliance repair, or carpentry experience a plus
  • Maintenance certifications or technical training preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work consistently
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
