Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate weekend Swing shift (12pm-12am)/Overnight (7p-7A) Veterinarian Technician to join the team at our successful Hospital. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. At least 1 yr of vet assistant/tech. experience is required. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, weโ€™d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic

working with emergency and hospitalized patients

Anesthesia monitoring and assisting doctor with surgery

Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history

Take vital signs, acquire blood samples, place IV catheters

Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery

Must be able to work in fast-paced environment and able to Multi-task

Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients

Keep accurate patient records

Answering phones

Qualifications

Minimum 1 yr. experience as a Veterinary Technician preferably in Emergency care

Must be able to place IV catheters and draw blood

Emergency care experience

Anesthesia and Surgery assisting experience

Knowledge of animal care and handling

Excellent communication skills

Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment

Patience and a love for animals

Dependable and must work well with others
