Job description

The IT Support Technician supports the IT team through asset inventory management, hardware support, and IT lifecycle projects. This role installs and maintains company hardware and software, resolves helpdesk issues, and communicates with end users in a timely manner.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  1. Maintain accurate IT asset inventory records and repair computer hardware, software, and related equipment.
  2. Install, maintain, and upgrade computer hardware, peripherals, and system software.
  3. Provide training/assistance for users on standardized software and hardware.
  4. Timely resolution of all assigned helpdesk issues and communication back to end user.
  5. Perform hardware/system compatibility testing for new internal or external programs or third-party bug fixes.
  6. Assist in the procurement of standard computer hardware, software, and related equipment and supplies.
  7. Keep an accurate inventory of existing computer hardware and software licensing.
  8. Work with third party vendors to resolve issues with purchased software and hardware.
  9. Document all procedures for installing hardware and software, helpdesk remediation procedures and any reoccurring issues.
  10. Assist with the maintenance of network hardware and software including adhering to departmental and corporate security guidelines
  11. Responsible for maintaining Active Directory Users and Computers.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:

  • Associate’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field or relevant and equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:

  • 2 years minimum experience in PC hardware and software maintenance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 11 and Windows Server, Microsoft 365 applications and O365/Entra administration
  • Experience troubleshooting computers, peripherals, and network connectivity in a corporate environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment (monitors, printers, desktops, servers, etc.)
  • Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional requirement to lift equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
