Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$17.43 - $24.40 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Environmental Services Technician II
  • Location: Swedish Hospital - Chicago, IL
  • Part time, Per Diem
  • Hours: Varies - Days (8am - 4:30pm), Evening (3pm - 11:30pm), rotating weekends & holidays

What you will do:

Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, performs patient room and ancillary area daily cleaning per departmental and corporate standards. This includes all isolation/terminal cleaning of rooms (including negative pressure/airborne), cleaning of any equipment used in patient room. This is to be done daily in all patient and ancillary areas to ensure customer service quality standards are being achieved and maintained by the Environmental Services Department.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Swedish Covenant Hospital anddemonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and standards of the Hospital.
  • Performs daily and terminal cleaning, replenishes supplies and reports necessary repairs of all patient care and ancillary areas (including patient rooms, washrooms, exam rooms, lobbies, offices, etc.) to ensure a safe, sanitary and attractive environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Collects, transports, processes and disposes of all type of regular, hazardous and medical waste throughout the facility following established policies and procedures to assure that all waste disposal is performed in compliance with all regulatory agencies and to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Extracts and spin clean carpets. Washes walls, ceilings, lights, spray buffs, scrubs, and refinishes hard/tile floors. Shampoos upholstered furniture. Performs other project cleaning all surfaces in order to maintain the quality of cleanliness with the facility.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned according to the demands of the department.
