Job description


The Department of Student Affairs and Office of Admissions at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Staff Associate. The successful candidate will:
  • Screen applications for the College of Medicine electronically using an admissions application system and work with the appropriate staff for all interfaces (e.g. banner, amp's application and interview modules).
  • Assist with the review of medical school applications and determining if applicant should be interviewed, writing interview questions for the interviewer.
  • Work with SUNY Downstate ECT and others for additional interfaces with the AMCAS system (e.g. banner, interview modules, web checklists, etc.).
  • Write interview questions for interviewer and record screener note on each applicant.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • 15 years of work experience with medical school admissions including experience with AMCAS, WebAdmit/AMP software systems.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work with a sophisticated computer system.
  • Strong ability to make decisions and resolve problems on a daily basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or equivalent preferred.
