Job Summary
This is a part-time moonlighter position to provide Urgent Care shift coverage for the Department.
The position plays a key role in delivering exceptional patient care while contributing to the growth and advancement of our clinical practice. Moonlighters are required to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month, 1 on-call shift per quarter, and 1 holiday per year. Urgent care coverage may occur at any of our urgent care clinics. Our patients include persons of all backgrounds and ages with a wide variety of urgent care needs.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for a broad range of illnesses and injuries. Expectations for this role include adhering to established policies and procedures, maintaining professionalism, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture, and ensuring accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Must respond to all rapid response and able to care for and treat children, adults, and pregnant patients.
  • Must be able to do routine urgent care procedures, including but not limited to: suture, fracture management, speculum/pelvic exams, abscess I and D, toenail removal, Wood's lamp.
  • Providers are required to work a minimum of 2-3 shifts per months (including weekend shifts).
  • Providers are required to work 1 on-call shift/quarter.
  • Providers are required to work 1 holiday/year.
  • Must be willing to work at all Urgent Care locations to provide coverage: Farmington Health Center, Greenwood Health Center, Sugarhouse Health Center, Redstone Health Center, Redwood Health Center, Stansbury Health Center, South Jordan Health Center, and Westridge Health Center.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Utah.
  • Must have and maintain U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency number without any suspension, diminution or revocation.
  • Must meet all the qualifications to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs or any similar government-funded health care program.
  • Must maintain a practice of medicine consistent with recognized standards of medical care and perform all activities in accordance with those standards.
  • Must meet all qualifications to participate in programs maintained by the University of Utah for professional malpractice liability coverage.
