Job description

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.


American Leadership Academy - Johnston is accepting applications for a Part-Time EL Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the EL Coordinator to maintain, evaluate, and improve the district ELL plan and program.
  • Evaluate the performance of students regarding achievement in curriculum and activities; makes necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
  • Analyze and evaluate student progress and course curriculum.
  • Participate in EL team meetings.
  • Implement co-teaching, pull-out, and push-in support services for EL students as appropriate.
  • Assist with testing EL students for language proficiency in accordance with state guidelines.
  • Communicate with parents of EL students to ensure they are informed of methods of evaluation utilized in the classroom, student success, school activities, and instructional methods.
  • Communicate and collaborate with School Administration regarding student progress and implementation of SEI model.
  • Design lessons based on the English Language Proficiency standards appropriate to student grade level and proficiency band.
  • Other duties as assigned.
