Passion for Life was created to be a high-energy and engaging process that helps students identify their passions and gain clarity on how to utilize their core strengths and talents to select a career.


Job Outline

The Strategic PMO Consultant will support leadership teams and oversee strategic functions of PFL's Project Management Office. This role is integral to strategic discussions and designed to influence the setting of strategic goals and ensure successful growth. Strategic PMO Consultant has the critical responsibility of aligning the project portfolio with organizational strategy. This involves translating executive vision into actionable project initiatives that drive business value.

This is avolunteer, part-time fully remote role. Time commitment 5-8 hours per week (6 months, but can be mutually extended).


Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic partnership by selecting, adapting, and implementing project management methodologies that fit organizational culture and project types.
  • Establish rigorous criteria for evaluating and prioritizing projects, develop scoring models that consider factors such as strategic alignment, return on investment, risk profile, resource availability, and dependencies.
  • Create multi-year roadmaps that sequence initiatives and ensure sustainable resource utilization with the anticipation of future organizational needs, technological shifts, and market changes.
  • Manage demands across the entire portfolio while maintaining flexibility to respond to emerging priorities, managing stakeholder expectations when projects are deprioritized or delayed in favor of higher-value initiatives.
  • Establish quality gates, review processes, and audit mechanisms to ensure projects adhere to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Provide complex portfolio information into executive-friendly formats that enable strategic decision-making. This involves creating intuitive dashboards highlighting portfolio health, strategic alignment, risk exposure, and value delivery.
  • Design comprehensive communication strategies that ensure appropriate information flows to the right audiences at right frequencies. This includes stakeholder analysis, communication channel selection, messaging frameworks, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Lead and develop the PMO Team to sustain growth objectives.
  • Oversee strategic alignment meetings.

  • At least seven (7) years in Project Management in a leadership capacity

  • Must possess initiative, creativity, and a highly developed work ethic
