THE PURPOSE:  

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in driving store performance through strong sales execution, operational discipline, and exceptional customer experience. This role plays a key leadership position on the sales floor, helping to execute daily store operations, coach and develop associates, and uphold True Religion's brand and selling standards. In the Store Manager's absence, the Assistant Store Manager provides coverage and leadership to ensure continued performance, team engagement, and operational consistency. 

THE ROLE (what you are accountable for):  

  • Support Business Results: Partner with the Store Manager to drive store KPIs including sales, payroll, conversion, and shrink, while maintaining operational and visual standards. 

  • Lead on the Floor: Act as Manager on Duty as assigned, setting expectations, leading shifts, and ensuring a positive, productive store environment. 

  • Communicate Effectively: Reinforce daily priorities, goals, and expectations while fostering open, respectful communication across the team. 

  • Coach & Develop Associates: Provide ongoing training, coaching, and feedback to support performance, engagement, and growth. 

  • Execute with Ownership: Take initiative in planning daily workload, staffing, and floor execution to support business needs. 

  • Problem Solve & Protect Assets: Use sound judgment to address challenges, resolve issues in real time, and support loss prevention and safety practices. 

  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Experience: Champion True Religion's selling culture by coaching in the moment and modeling brand-right behaviors. 

  • Operational Excellence: Support scheduling, payroll controls, policy execution, and compliance with company procedures. 

  • Visual & Inventory Execution: Maintain visual merchandising standards, support inventory accuracy, and ensure a clean, organized sales floor and stockroom.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • 1-3 years of experience in a retail supervisory, key-holder, or management role within a specialty or fashion environment 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred 

  • Demonstrated ability to support store KPIs, including sales, payroll, and shrink 

  • Strong coaching and communication skills with a hands-on leadership approach 

  • Experience supporting visual merchandising, inventory management, and loss prevention practices 

  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning retail systems and technology 

ADDITIONAL ROLE INFORMATION: 

  • Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this role is $ $18-$20 per hour.  This is a part-time non-exempt position. This range represents the low and high ends of the expected base salary range for this role based on the applicable location. True Religion reasonably expects to pay within this range in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity.

  • Physical & Work Requirements: This role requires the ability to maneuver on the sales floor and stockroom, as well as stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and peak retail hours.
