Job description

Job Summary


The Central Staff Scheduling Coordinator supports workforce scheduling operations for multiple hospital locations, helping ensure appropriate staffing coverage and efficient scheduling practices. This role requires close collaboration with clinical leaders, team members, and other operational partners to manage staffing needs, schedule adjustments, and workforce support activities. The coordinator will routinely utilize UKG and Microsoft Excel to manage schedules, track staffing data, generate reports, and support workforce planning initiatives. New hires will complete 6 to 8 weeks of onsite training at the hospital locations they support before transitioning to a hybrid work model. Following training, team members will work both virtually and onsite at Corewell Health Southfield Center approximately 2 to 3 days per week.

Essential Functions
  • Analyzes shift-by-shift staffing variances by unit and re-allocates or cancels staff following standard procedures.

  • Assigns float and flex pool team members to units with staffing deficits and communicates assignments to team members following standard procedures.

  • Utilizes staffing and scheduling software program(s) to perform scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll duties as directed by leadership.

  • Attends meetings, compiles data, performs staffing recruitment tasks, and assists leadership as directed.

  • Communicates effectively and professionally with co-workers and team members from other departments. Helps others as needed to contribute to the overall success of the department and Corewell Health.

Qualifications
  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred Associate's Degree in related field

  • 2 years of relevant experience Office, clerical or secretarial work, health care, customer service, computer applications, scheduling. Required
