Amergis Healthcare Staffing is hiring a Part-Time Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for a school-based opportunity in Claremont, California for the 2026-2027 school year!

Position Details

  • Position: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
  • Location: Claremont, CA
  • Schedule: Part-Time, 3 full days per week
  • Hours: 20 hours per week
  • Contract Length: 2026-2027 School Year
  • Start Date: September 2026 (TBD)

Responsibilities

  • Assist Speech Language Pathologists in providing speech and language services to students
  • Implement treatment plans and therapy activities as directed by the supervising SLP
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
  • Support students in classroom and educational settings
  • Collaborate with school staff and families as appropriate

Requirements

  • Graduate of an SLPA program with an Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Minimum 100 hours of supervised fieldwork experience or equivalent
  • Current California SLPA license/certification
  • One year of SLPA experience preferred
  • Current health screening requirements as applicable
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant assists the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services.  The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will have clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment related activities while working within the scope of responsibilities/ plan of care assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist and/or physician. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must be a graduate of a SLPA program with an associateโ€™s degree, or have a bachelorโ€™s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program 
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent as required by state and/or contract
  • Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Practice 
  • Complies with all relevant  professional standards of  practice 
  • One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant experience preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
