Job description

Awning & Shade Installer – $27 to $40 per hour (DOE)


Eastside Shade & Awning Co. has provided top-tier awnings, shades, pergolas, and a variety of solar protection solutions in the PNW since 1963 out of our Bellevue, WA location. We specialize in retractable & fixed awnings, pergolas, exterior solar shades, and a variety of custom covers & patio solutions for our residential and commercial clients.


We would like a skilled technician to join our team on a part-time basis. The ability to focus and work hard in a variety of conditions, think on your feet, quickly resolve problems, all while maintaining a professional attitude, is required for this position.


Principle Responsibilities:

  • Install products & perform services with the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and safety.
  • Follow install & service guidelines and take instruction well.
  • Be able to think on your feet, troubleshoot, and adapt.
  • Operate equipment on-site and at our shop, in a safe manner after properly trained.
  • Comfortable lifting & working on awnings and shades from an 8' to 20' ladder.
  • Is mechanically-inclined and must have basic skills - read a tape measure, calculate measurements, and power tool skills.
  • Maintain & clean work areas at our shop and at client sites.
  • Load & unload the work vehicles. Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment.
  • Able to lift up to 50-100lbs comfortably.

Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of referenceable install experience in commercial and/or residential awning, screen/shade, pergola or sign industries.
  • Have a clean DMV record & a valid Washington State Driver’s License.
  • Be a self-starter with a professional, positive attitude, and be willing to work as a team member in a small business.
  • Have a clean appearance & good communication skills with clients.
  • Have a referenceable, punctual attendance history with previous employers.
  • Available to work on weekdays between 0830am to 0200pm. Days and hours will vary, but average 25 hours per week.


Pay based on experience. Minimum hourly pay is $27/hour. May have PTO (paid time off) and potential EOY bonuses.
