Activity Desk Specialist, Part Time
Rate of Pay: $16/hour plus commissions
Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Part Time Activity Desk Specialist to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.
Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for assisting guests in creating a memorable itinerary, including booking activities and tours, while providing personalized services to guests to enhance the overall guest experience in an efficient and courteous manner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Recommend and book activities, restaurants with recommended vendors according to the guest profile and need.
  • Accommodate guests by making them feel welcome, informed, and cared for during the entire length of their stay.
  • Handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Assist guests in creating a memorable itinerary through phone calls, emails, live chat platform and online requests.
  • Respond to guest requests in an accurate and timely manner, making recommendations based on local knowledge and hotel practices.
  • Utilizes a variety of software programs to accurately secure activities and reservations.
  • Inputting purchases through the point of sale (POS) system.
  • Print tickets, boarding passes, confirm reservation(s), and follow up on any additional information as applicable.
  • Organize individual or group transportation needs.
  • Accommodate guests by making them feel welcome, informed, and cared for during the entire length of their stay by maintaining a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor.
  • Interact with guests throughout the lobby to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Anticipate and respond to guest needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheets, bulletin boards and be up to date with all changes, new procedures and events.
  • Perform opening/setup, breakdown, and closing of activity desk.
  • Aid other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications:
Knowledge/Education/Experience: Proficient in Microsoft applications. At least one (1) year previous experience as an Island of Hawaii activity coordinator and/or activity sales representative within the hospitality industry is preferred. Ability to operate a computerized point of sale system. Ability to speak multiple languages is preferred. High school or equivalent education.
Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: English speaking or bilingual. Ability to make timely, effective decisions. Ability to prioritize, organize and complete work assignments. Ability to maintain good team member relations. Ability to develop and maintain effective guest relations. Ability to provide effective communication both verbal and written. Ability to prioritize, organize, and make good judgments. Strong problem-solving ability. Strong attention to detail. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Dependable.
