Job description

Part-Time Clinical Supervisor Job Description 

The Clinical Supervisor will provide weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly structured individual and group clinical supervision with therapists, interns, and registered associates to discuss therapist caseloads including ethical issues/concerns, and any professional issues that may arise. The Clinical Supervisor will provide feedback to strengthen clinical skills, professional competence, and the use of evidence-based practices and the timely submission of clinical documentation. 

Clinical Supervisor Responsibilities: 

  • Provide regularly scheduled supervision with assigned therapist, either on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis depending on the therapist’s need and Clinical Director’s recommendation. 
  • Provide biweekly supervision to therapists carrying a caseload of 12+ clients.  
  • The Clinical Supervisor will be available by phone, text, or email to respond to requests from their assigned therapists for information and/or assistance. And when necessary, will remain available for urgent clinical consultation outside normal business hours. 
  • If the Clinical Supervisor is unable to assist or needs backup, he/she will consult with either the Clinical Director or the Operations Manager.   
  • Conduct annual performance reviews. 
  • Complete performance improvement plans, and write ups as deemed necessary in consultation with the Clinical Director and Operations Manager. 
  • Ensure clinicians comply with licensure and registration requirements. 
  • Ensure compliance, accuracy, and quality of clinical documentation including reviewing documentation for clinical accuracy, completeness, compliance, and payer requirements. And assisting clinicians in resolving barriers to treatment, scheduling, and service coordination. 
  • Ensure compliance with MAHCS clinical policies and procedures. 
  • Check and respond to emails within 24 hours. 
  • Report directly to and maintain consistent communication with the Clinical Director and serve as a backup for the Clinical Director. 
  • Escalate concerns that affect operations and clinical care to the Clinical Director and Operations Manager in a timely manner. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Clinical Director or Operations Manager. 

Review of Documentation: 

  • The Clinical Supervisor will ensure that therapists submit a Progress Note or Contact Log for each of their assigned clients weekly. 
  • Review clinical documentation of assigned therapists including weekly progress notes, treatment plan reviews, transfer summaries, discharge summaries, CFARS/FARS, ChildNet monthly reports, and incident reports. 
  • Maintain master client tracking sheets and provide monthly copies to assigned therapists. 
  • Reviewing and ensuring that assigned therapists are up to date with documentation (i.e. Treatment Plan Reviews, functional assessment [CFARS/FARS], ChildNet reports, Annual Intakes, etc.). 
  • Reviews therapist caseloads during individual supervision and note the staffing of those cases, individually, in a Supervision Log. 
  • Maintains documentation of supervision summaries and concerns in the EMR system, Lauris. 
  • Provide ongoing support and emergency case consultation to direct reports as needed. 
  • Provide support and clinical education as needed and refer advanced issues to upper management/Clinical Director. 

Clinical Supervisor Requirements: 

  • The Clinical Supervisor must hold a Florida State License as either a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). 
  • The Clinical Supervisor must have at least two years of post-licensure experience providing mental health services and clinical supervision in an outpatient setting, servicing children, adolescents, and adults. 
  • The Clinical Supervisor should be a Qualified Supervisor within the state of Florida or be open to completing the Qualified Supervisor certification. 
  • The Clinical Supervisor must have strong organizational skills including the ability to manage his/her work calendar of scheduled appointments, effective oral and written communication, and teamwork. 
  • The Clinical Supervisor must be proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, and all google documents (docs, sheets, calendar, etc.). 
  • The Clinical Supervisor must have proficient knowledge of applicable laws and rules related to AHCA, Medicaid, and HIPPA regulations. 
  • Pre-employment background screening required prior to hire. 

Hours per week: Part-time position averaging approximately 20 hours per week; hours may vary based on caseload and operational needs.
