Position Description Summary/Purpose:
Goodwin University is seeking a candidate for the position of Part-Time Simulation Technician for the undergraduate nursing programs. This staff position is technology driven and the individual will be responsible for high-fidelity simulation software use in the simulation center; equipment management following infection prevention practices and Sim electronic program integration.
In addition, the Sim Tech will be responsible for maintaining supplies for the laboratories to ensure organization for the delivery of the clinical component of the nursing programs. This position is on campus in the nursing laboratories on the fifth floor.
Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain equipment and stock of lab supplies.
  • Assist with lab scenarios with students and faculty.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain the lab in safe, clean, prepared working order.
  • Morning and evening start up and shut down of lab.
  • Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.

Other Functions:
  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.

Knowledge, Ability and Skill:
  • Healthcare experience required, medical terminology required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote belonging and inclusion and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity.
  • Ability to volunteer to be a patient for clinical simulation.
  • Skilled at organization and stocking of supplies.
  • Patience to assist students mastering skills.
  • Skilled at integration of Sim technology and other similar programs
  • Skilled at Microsoft programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Forms

Education, Training and Experience:
  • Associate Degree or higher.
  • Prior healthcare related experience required, preferred in educational environment.
  • At least one year of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Proven customer service skills preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills required
