Pet Sitter - Dog Walker

Furkid Sitting & Services

Baton Rouge, LA โ€ข On-site

$20 - $23/hr

Contractor

Job description

Job Posting: Part-Time Pet Sitter (Baton Rouge)

Are you a pet lover looking for a rewarding, flexible way to stay active and earn extra income? Furkids Sitting & Services LLC is seeking reliable independent contractors (1099) in the Baton Rouge area to provide top-notch care for our clients' beloved pets. This role is perfect for retirees, empty nesters, or adults seeking a meaningful part-time opportunity that easily fits into an existing routine.

Why You'll Love This Role:
  • Ultimate Flexibility: You choose which client requests to accept based on your availability. Once you take an assignment, you manage your own schedule for the visits.
  • Companionship & Joy: Spend your time walking dogs, playing with cats, and giving plenty of love and affection to the "furkids" in our community.
  • Stay Active: Enjoy short, refreshing 30 to 45-minute visits that get you out and moving without the stress of a demanding 9-to-5.
What a Typical Visit Looks Like:

Our visits are generally 30-45 minutes long and focus on keeping pets happy, safe, and comfortable in their own homes. Your core tasks will include:

  • Feeding pets, refreshing water, and cleaning up light messes (like wiping down counters or washing feeding spoons).
  • Walking dogs, scooping litter boxes, and enjoying playtime and affection.
  • Providing basic home-care help, such as bringing in the mail/packages, watering plants, or moving garbage cans to the curb on collection days.
Scheduling & Structure:

To keep things consistent for the pets, visits are scheduled around the same time each day:

  • Cats: Usually require just one visit per day, which can easily be timed to suit your own daily schedule.
  • Dogs: Often require twice-daily visits. These typically occur during a morning window (6:30 AM - 8:00 AM) and an early evening window (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM).
What We Are Looking For:
  • Reliability & Trust: Because you will be entering clients' private homes, a high level of integrity and respect for client confidentiality is required. (To ensure safety and privacy, we ask that you do not bring guests with you to visits).
  • Good Communication: You'll receive detailed care instructions from the owners, and you will send them a quick, electronic update after each visit to let them know how their pets are doing.
