Overview
The Food Service Worker is responsible for safely performing contract duties as assigned by management. Quality customer service is expected to be provided at all times. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job is a requirement of the position.
Role Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must understand oral and/or written instructions.
  • Must interact appropriately with customers, government personnel, and staff members.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract(s).
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Line Server - set up hot and cold serving stations, serve customers properly sized portions at sufficient rates, remove or refill hot and cold items, communicate with cooks, food runners, and supervisors when items get low or run out.
  • Dining Room - clean salad and beverage bar areas and clean spills immediately, clean tables after customer use, refill napkin, straw, toothpick, and other food service dispensers.
  • Dish Room/Pots and Pans - Run automatic dishwasher and refill chemicals as needed, pre-wash, scrub, sort, separate, and put away dishes and utensils
  • Sanitation/Custodial - sweep, vacuum, and/or mop flooring, empty trash cans and deposit trash in appropriate receptacles, clean ground-level interior and exterior glass windows and doors, restock paper products and soap and refill all other dispensers.

Physical Requirements:
May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors. May work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours and weekends and holidays.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. May be required to remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow shovels or snowplows.

Compensation:
Compensation for this position will be $17.75 per hour. The federal government pays Health and Welfare (H&W) dollars on behalf of team members covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA). The current H&W rate is $4.93 per eligible hours worked and are applied to employee benefits.
