Description
Engelhard Medical Center Pharmacy, a part of Ocracoke Health Center, Inc. is a nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our coastal communities. With locations in Ocracoke, Manteo, and Engelhard, we offer primary care, behavioral health, pediatrics, in-house pharmacies, and support for migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Our mission is to be a respectful, accessible, and comprehensive medical home for all.
Location: Engelhard, NC
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Pay: $15-$17/hour
Position Type: Temporary (June-September 2026)
This position is a temporary assignment covering a medical leave of absence from July through September.
We are ideally seeking someone who can start in mid-June to allow for training and a smooth transition.
About the Role:
We're looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support our busy, mission-driven pharmacy. If you enjoy helping people and want to make a meaningful impact in your community, we'd love to hear from you - especially if you're bilingual (Spanish is a big plus!).
What You'll Do:
  • Support Patients: Greet and assist patients in person and on the phone with warmth and professionalism.
  • Process Prescriptions: Enter data, prepare medications, and label/package with care and accuracy.
  • Stay Organized: Keep supplies stocked, manage files, and help maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Be Tech-Savvy: Use pharmacy software to handle prescriptions and insurance claims.
  • Pitch In: Collaborate with your team and take on other duties as needed.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (preferred, not required)
