COMMUNITY HEATH:

ABOUT THE ROLE:
CHCRR is seeking motivated, compassionate individuals to join our Medical Assistant Trainee Program. This structured, paid 25 week training opportunity is designed for candidates interested in starting a career at Community Health and becoming a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).

As a trainee, you will participate in a combination of classroom learning and hands-on clinical training, preparing you to support both clinical and administrative functions within our primary care practices throughout Rutland County.

Weeks 1-4

  • Classroom learning with academic support

Weeks 5-10

  • Coursework and clinical shadowing

Weeks 11-25

  • Hands-on clinical training while completing coursework

Monday - Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM (30 Minute Unpaid Lunch)


This program includes training in:

  • Medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Clinical procedures and patient care techniques
  • Vital signs, EKG, and phlebotomy basics
  • Infection control and safety practices
  • Patient communication and workflow coordination
  • Combination of online coursework and clinical experience


FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Prepare patients for exams, including taking vital signs and documenting history
  • Assist providers with procedures and treatments
  • Administer vaccines and perform routine diagnostic tests (as trained)
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Schedule appointments and support care coordination
  • Communicate effectively with patients and care teams

(Responsibilities align with standard MA duties at CHCRR practices)


SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interest in pursuing a healthcare career at Community Health
  • Ability to commit to completing the full training program and continuing employment at Community Health in an approved position
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility across CHCRR sites


PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS & COMMITMENT:

  • Complete all coursework and clinical training requirements (typically within 12 months)
  • Successfully obtain CCMA certification upon completion of the program
  • Commit to ongoing employment with CHCRR following program completion
  • Ability to provide 3 professional references from employers, teacher, past volunteer work etc.
  • Meet all competency and onboarding requirements
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
