What is a part time Sentara RN?

A Part Time Sentara RN is a registered nurse who works for Sentara Healthcare on a part-time basis, typically working fewer hours per week than a full-time nurse. These nurses provide patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with healthcare teams, but usually have more flexible schedules. Part-time RNs may work in various settings, such as hospitals, clinics, or outpatient centers within the Sentara network. The role allows nurses to maintain a work-life balance while still contributing to patient care and the organization’s mission.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time Sentara RN?

To thrive as a Part Time Sentara RN, you need a current RN license, strong clinical assessment abilities, and a solid grasp of nursing best practices. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, medication administration protocols, and hospital-specific procedures is typically required. Compassion, teamwork, and effective communication are essential soft skills for providing excellent patient care and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. These skills and qualifications ensure that even in a part-time capacity, nurses maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

How does working as a part time RN at Sentara impact shift scheduling and work-life balance?

As a part-time RN at Sentara, you typically have more flexibility in your shift scheduling compared to full-time staff. Part-time nurses may be scheduled for shorter shifts or fewer days per week, which can help with balancing personal commitments. However, you may occasionally be asked to cover shifts during weekends or holidays, depending on unit needs. Communication with your nurse manager about your availability and preferences is important to ensure a positive work-life balance while meeting patient care demands.

At Ambulatory Anesthesia Care – Pacific Northwest (AAC-PNW), we provide high-quality office-based anesthesia services across pediatric dental, adult dental, and select specialty settings including GI, ENT, fertility/gynecology, and plastics.

We are seeking a CRNA who is comfortable caring for pediatric patients in office-based environments, particularly pediatric dental settings. Our patients are healthy pediatric cases (primarily ASA I), and procedures are efficient with short sedation and recovery times. This model is intentionally designed to support both excellent clinical care and a sustainable lifestyle.

What This Role Looks Like

  • Healthy pediatric patients (primarily ASA I)

  • Efficient cases with short sedation and recovery times

  • Early start, early finish — many days wrap up by 1–2 PM

Our early-start model allows you to finish your day earlier and enjoy more time outside the OR—whether that's family time, outdoor activities, or simply a better rhythm to your week.

Why Providers Choose AAC-PNW
  • Flexible full-time and part-time opportunities

  • W2 and 1099 compensation packages available

  • Leadership and clinical partnership opportunities over time

  • Retention bonus and referral incentives available

Who We're Looking For
  • CRNA licensed (or eligible) in Oregon and/or Washington

  • Comfortable providing anesthesia for pediatric patients

  • Experience in office-based or ASC settings preferred

  • Team-oriented mindset with strong clinical judgment

  • Interest in a flexible, lifestyle-friendly practice model
