What is a part time Salesforce Solution Architect?

Part-time Salesforce Solution Architects are professionals who design and implement Salesforce solutions on a part-time basis, often for organizations that need specialized expertise but do not require a full-time architect. They analyze business requirements, create technical architecture, and guide the configuration and customization of Salesforce platforms. Working part-time allows them to support multiple clients or projects, offering flexibility to both the employer and the architect. Their role is crucial in ensuring that Salesforce solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business goals.

What are some common challenges faced by part time Salesforce Solution Architects, and how can they be managed effectively?

Part-time Salesforce Solution Architects often face the challenge of balancing multiple projects or clients within limited working hours, which requires excellent time management and clear communication with stakeholders. Additionally, staying updated with frequent Salesforce platform changes can be demanding when working fewer hours. Collaborating closely with full-time team members and utilizing thorough documentation practices can help ensure alignment and project continuity. Leveraging tools like Salesforce Chatter and project management platforms also supports effective remote and part-time collaboration.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time Salesforce Solution Architect, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Salesforce Solution Architect, you need deep expertise in Salesforce platform architecture, CRM best practices, and a strong understanding of business processes, typically supported by relevant certifications like Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Salesforce Certified Solution Architect. Proficiency in tools such as Salesforce Lightning, Apex, Visualforce, and integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft) is essential. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills help you translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. These skills ensure that Salesforce implementations are efficient, effective, and aligned with organizational goals, even in a part-time capacity.

Are you energized by building Salesforce solutions that make business processes cleaner, faster, and easier for users? This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands-on Salesforce development, solving technical challenges, and creating scalable solutions across core Salesforce Clouds.

Our Salesforce Developer role is focused on designing, developing, and deploying scalable Salesforce solutions that support business growth across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud. This person will partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into high-quality Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and declarative configurations that improve user experience, platform reliability, and system performance. We're looking for someone with strong Salesforce development expertise, solid testing and deployment practices, and the ability to deliver secure, reliable solutions in an Agile environment.

This is part-time role for 20 hours/week, for 5 month project.  Highly preferred experience with Salesforce Service Cloud Voice and Amazon Connect is a strong plus for this role.

Who we are

  • Develop and maintain custom Apex classes, triggers, batch jobs, and asynchronous processes including Future and Queueable methods.
  • Build and enhance Lightning Web Components using JavaScript and Apex to improve user experience and business functionality.
  • Configure and automate Salesforce using custom objects, fields, validation rules, record types, workflows, Flows, and page layouts.
  • Create and execute unit tests, integration tests, and testing support activities to ensure platform quality and release readiness.
  • Develop and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards, including tabular, summary, joined, and matrix reports.
  • Manage Salesforce data updates and migrations using tools such as Data Loader, Workbench, and Data Import Wizard.
  • Implement and manage Salesforce security and access controls, including Profiles, Permission Sets, Role Hierarchy, Organization-Wide Defaults, and sharing rules.
  • Collaborate in Agile teams to translate business requirements into effective Apex, JavaScript, LWC, Flow, and declarative Salesforce solutions.
  • Support code promotion and deployments using Change Sets, ANT, and CI/CD tools such as Gearset, Git, and Jenkins.
  • Support Experience Cloud delivery, including Sites, Portals, Communities, and Salesforce CMS.
  • Contribute to troubleshooting, production support, technical documentation, and ongoing platform improvements.
  • Support Service Cloud Voice and Amazon Connect-related development or integrations when needed.
What you bring
  • Salesforce certifications required, including Salesforce Platform Developer.
  • Administrator and additional Salesforce certifications are a strong plus.
  • 8+ years of Salesforce experience developing and managing applications on the Salesforce Platform.
  • Strong understanding of Visualforce, Lightning Component Framework, Flow, Process Builder, Apex controllers, triggers, APIs, governor limits, web services, and batch jobs.
  • Extensive hands-on Salesforce development experience with Apex, including classes, triggers, test classes, scheduled batch jobs, and asynchronous processing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Lightning Web Components, including JavaScript-based UI/UX enhancements, Apex handlers, and JavaScript development.
  • Proficiency building complex Salesforce Flows and leveraging automation and declarative tools to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Advanced Salesforce configuration expertise, including custom objects, fields, validation rules, record types, page layouts, and territory management.
  • Experience delivering Apex- and LWC-heavy projects and translating technical requirements into actionable development work.
  • Experience with deployment tools such as Gearset, along with version control and CI/CD best practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver Sites, Portals, and Communities using Salesforce Experience Cloud and Salesforce CMS.
  • In-depth knowledge of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
  • Marketing Cloud and other Salesforce Cloud experience is a strong plus.
