Quality Assurance Specialist
The Opportunity:
When a user tries a new system, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful information systems, and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need you, a quality assurance specialist who is eager to thoroughly test software and help our team release the best systems possible.
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you'll develop and perform tests of systems to identify hardware and software deficiencies and verify compliance with system requirements. You'll document software defects and requirement compliance, report defects to developers, and create and maintain databases of known issues. You'll also participate in software design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, operational characteristics, product designs, and schedules.
You'll work with software developers, network engineers, and system administrators to evaluate developed systems in a networked environment for the Department of War (DoW) warfighter. In addition, you will support simulator environments by validating that virtual systems accurately represent real-world platform behavior and mission conditions.
A key part of this role includes developing a strong understanding of mission profiles and operational workflows, then applying that knowledge to test planning and execution. You'll collaborate directly with pilots and other operational users to gather feedback, assess realism, and ensure the virtual environment reflects real-world performance, procedures, and constraints.
You'll expand your experience across testing disciplines, including manual, automation, performance, accessibility, usability, user acceptance testing, simulator support, and testing process improvement. This is an opportunity to broaden your skills in documenting and resolving system deficiencies while taking the next step in your Quality Assurance Specialist career.
Work with us to support the development of systems solutions that protect our nation's critical infrastructure and secure our defense networks. This position is located in Patuxent River, MD.
