Job Description
This is an ongoing applicant pool for positions in Agricultural Engineering (equipment and machinery, farm mechanics) and/or Agricultural Production (animal science, plant science, beekeeping, aquaculture).
BASIC FUNCTION:
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Agriculture courses up to 10 hours/week
  • Organize and teach all levels of Agriculture classes
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include online distance learning and accelerated courses;
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired

Essential Duties Summary
REQUIRED DUTIES:
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications stated below:
  • Bachelor's degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience, and/or other specifications as noted;
  • Or specifically named associate degree(s) and six years of professional experience.
  • The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.
  • Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

  • EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement. This ensures that candidates either meet the standard qualifications or have received official recognition of their equivalent qualifications.

The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.
Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.
