To thrive as a Part-Time SaaS Finance professional, you need strong analytical skills, knowledge of SaaS financial metrics (like ARR, MRR, churn), and a background in finance or accounting—often supported by a degree or CPA qualification. Familiarity with financial modeling tools, SaaS-specific analytics platforms, and accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite is typically required. What are some common challenges faced by part time professionals in SaaS finance roles, and how can they be managed?

Part-time SaaS finance professionals often navigate challenges such as managing fluctuating workloads during financial reporting periods and staying aligned with fast-paced product and sales teams. Since SaaS businesses rely heavily on metrics like MRR, churn, and ARR, part-timers must ensure continuous data accuracy and timely reporting, despite limited hours. Effective communication, robust documentation, and leveraging automation tools help bridge gaps and maintain workflow efficiency. Regular check-ins with full-time colleagues can also ensure smooth collaboration and keep part-time team members up-to-date on changes in business strategy.

What is a part time SaaS finance?

A Part Time SaaS Finance role involves handling the financial activities of a Software as a Service (SaaS) company on a part-time basis. This typically includes tasks such as financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, analyzing revenue streams, and managing expenses specific to SaaS business models. Professionals in this role may also assist with subscription billing, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Compensation: $100-$120 per hour (20 hours per week commitment)
Job Type: Part-time / Contract
Location: US, UK, Canada, France, Portugal (remote)
We are seeking a Strategic Finance AI Expert to bridge advanced analytics with high-impact financial decision-making. This role sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and artificial intelligence, enabling leadership teams to make faster, data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will combine strong financial acumen with hands-on experience in leveraging AI/ML tools to drive business insights, optimize unit economics, and support executive-level strategy formulation.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Case Development:
Lead the creation of robust, data-backed business cases for new initiatives, investments, and strategic projects. Translate ambiguous business problems into structured financial models, incorporating AI-driven forecasting, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, operations, data science) to validate assumptions and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Unit Economics & Profitability Analysis:
Own the development and continuous refinement of unit economics frameworks across products, geographies, or customer segments. Use advanced analytics and AI tools to identify profitability drivers, cost optimization opportunities, and revenue levers. Provide actionable insights on pricing strategies, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and margin expansion.
  • Executive & Board-Level Decision Support:
Partner closely with senior leadership and board members to deliver clear, concise, and insight-rich financial narratives. Prepare high-quality materials including dashboards, reports, and presentations that synthesize complex data into strategic recommendations. Support long-term planning, capital allocation decisions, and performance tracking against strategic objectives.
  • AI-Driven Financial Modeling:
Integrate machine learning models and automation tools into financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes. Enhance forecasting accuracy, automate reporting workflows, and develop predictive models for revenue, costs, and risk. Evaluate and implement emerging AI solutions to improve financial decision-making efficiency.
  • Strategic Insights & Performance Monitoring:
Design and track key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with business strategy. Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Act as a thought partner to business leaders, proactively recommending actions to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3-8 years of experience in strategic finance, consulting, investment banking, or FP&A, with exposure to AI/analytics.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and scenario analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with data tools such as Python, SQL, or advanced Excel; familiarity with AI/ML frameworks is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear business insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, especially in executive-facing contexts.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience in high-growth or tech-driven environments.
  • Exposure to SaaS, marketplace, or platform business models.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-paced settings with a high degree of ownership.

Impact:
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape strategic decisions by combining financial expertise with cutting-edge AI capabilities, directly influencing growth, profitability, and long-term value creation.
