Job description

The ideal candidate for this role, Part Time Registered Nurse – Oncology, will be passionate about providing care and educating the patients in this community! You will be given the opportunity to make an impact and change the lives of countless people from all different walks of life! The core responsibilities for this role will be the following:

Requirements

  • 2 year of Oncology, chemotherapy and biotherapy experience , outpatient clinic - highly preferred
  • Minimum 18 months of infusion experience
  • BLS and ACLS Certification required
  • Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification required
  • Plans, provides, supervises, and documents professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
  • Communicates and collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Charts observations and activities related to patient care in electronic health record.
  • Provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population on a specific unit.
  • Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
  • Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, infection control and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standards.
  • Collects blood specimens by venipuncture or microtechniques for laboratory analysis necessary for patient treatment and diagnosis.
  • Operates equipment that is needed to perform department specific duties
