AbleLiving Services is currently hiring Part Time Registered Practical Nurse to join our Binbrook Team.

Position Summary:

Monitor health status of persons with disabilities and the senior population. Provide nursing services within a defined scope of practice.  Monitor the building to ensure the security and safety of clients, staff and guests; and take appropriate action in an emergency situation.  

Requirements:

  • Completion of a vocational, college or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body are required.  
  • Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset.  May be required to pursue a certificate in bliss symbols and/or sign language.
  • Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times; demonstrate sound judgment and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively. 
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring of residents

Job Type: Part-Time

Starting Rate: $27.27/hour as per CUPE Local Collective Agreement + Provincial Wage Enhancement of $3.00
