Role: RN - Acute Care - Ortho Surgical - Part-Time Night Shift

The RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role as part of a collaborative team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers, ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. This role operates within a clinical environment overseen by Nurse Managers and other leaders, supported by our Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is guided by our Professional Practice Model, emphasizing evidence-based practices and research. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, as well as the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics established by the American Nurses Association. As part of the patient services team, you will advocate for the patient’s voice while adhering to system policies and striving for service excellence.

• Exemplary Practice and Outcomes:
  • Utilize the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver clinical care based on evidence-based practices, ensuring individualized care and effective coordination.
  • Provide patient-centered care that respects population-specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, health conditions) and cultural diversity.
  • Engage with patients and their significant others through appropriate communication methods, ensuring their goals are central to the care plan.
  • Adhere to current clinical practice standards.
• Teamwork and Collaboration:
  • Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care that aligns with the professional care delivery model, utilizing diverse communication methods.
  • Foster teamwork by practicing fiscal responsibility and supporting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives, research, and shared governance to enhance patient care quality.
• Professional Development and Initiative:
  • Complete all required competency assessments and ongoing education.
  • Act as a preceptor or mentor for other nurses and staff, ensuring a qualified workforce and a positive work environment.
• Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
  • Promote evidence-based practices and nursing research, participating in value analysis for patient care products.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and clinical competencies, ensuring compliance with legal and accreditation standards.
  • Engage in data collection and consult experts to address clinical practice questions.
• Resources and Support:
  • Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum while providing direct care.
  • Contribute to the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and the healthcare team.
  • Support the efficient use of human and material resources.

Other duties may be assigned as needed, and compliance with all organizational policies, work standards, and code of conduct is expected.

• Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact required upon hire.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification required (ARC-BLS or equivalent).
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of RN experience is required, with direct patient care experience preferred.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; basic computer skills are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with composure and respect.
  • Effective time management and critical thinking skills, utilizing evidence-based practices.
