The Manor at Blue Water Bay, the only locally owned and operated long-term care facility,ย is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to deliver care to residents or patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.

The Registered Nurses (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)ย is responsible for delivering care to residents/patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; effectively interacts with residents/patients, family members, and other health team members while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.

YOUR ROLE:

The Registered Nurse (RN)/ Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)ย is responsible for delivering care to residents/patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; effectively interacts with residents/patients, family members, and other health team members while maintaining the standards of professional nursing.

  • Ability to learn, absorb, and apply technical training, and the ability to prepare and administer treatment or medication and keep records in prescribed manner.
  • Ability to perceive differences in patient behavior and recognize symptoms and the ability to communicate: effectively in writing, by telephone, and in personal contacts.
  • Ability to organize work procedures, assume responsibility, and tactfully supervise others.
  • Assume responsibility for safe administration of medications and treatments.
  • Coordinate nursing activities with the activities of other departments. Admit new patients.
  • Make frequent rounds to verify that appropriate nursing care (according to established policies and procedures is provided; note any changes in a patientโ€™s condition; intervene to correct problems observed.
  • Assist physician during rounds.
  • Maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each patient. Assist patients to attain highest level of self-care possible.
  • Relieve other shifts if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Bachelorโ€™s School of Nursing, or vocational nursing
  • Licensed to practice in this state.
  • Proof of current CPR certificationย 
  • Participate in continuing education so that she/he has knowledge of current trends and new developments in nursing and meets state requirements.
  • Compassionate, friendly demeanorย 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Current driverโ€™s license and reliable transportationย 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally
