Part-Time Commercial Estimator — Remote

Part-time | Remote | Commission-Based

About the Role

We're a building materials supplier and subcontractor serving commercial and multifamily construction projects, supplying flooring, kitchen cabinets, doors, and windows to general contractors, developers, and builders. We're hiring a part-time Commercial Estimator to handle material takeoffs and bid proposals. Remote, flexible hours — a good fit for an experienced estimator looking for steady supplemental work.

Responsibilities

  • Review plans, specs, and finish schedules from bid platforms and plan rooms
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for flooring, cabinets, doors, and windows
  • Prepare itemized bid proposals with pricing, waste factors, and delivery assumptions
  • Track deadlines and submit complete bid packages on time
  • Flag spec and code requirements that affect pricing
  • Coordinate with the sales team on scope questions and RFIs

Requirements

  • 5+ years estimating in commercial, multifamily, or residential construction
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and door/window and finish schedules
  • Experience with digital takeoff software and spreadsheets
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, clear written English

Nice to Have

  • Experience with bid platforms such as PlanHub, ConstructConnect, or Dodge Construction Network
  • Prior estimating for a materials supplier or distributor
  • Existing relationships with general contractors

Compensation

Commission paid on bids that convert to purchase orders. Additional compensation details discussed during the interview. Flexible hours with room to scale up during heavy bid periods.
