Job description

What You'll Do:
The Endocrinology Telemedicine Physician will work directly with patients together with a team of Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (CDCES) and obesity-certified clinicians. The physician will be responsible for overseeing patient care by providing direct video/audio consultations and supervising the care provided by the non-physician clinical team. This is a remote, part-time, and independent contractor position.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide video/audio visits with patients requiring expert intervention in the management of their diabetes and/or their weight management. The patient's non-physician clinician may also attend these visits to better carry out the physician's care plan
  • Supervise patient care delivered by non-physician clinicians through case review meetings. The goal is to guide the clinicians in appropriate medication adjustments and titration
  • Support patients on all diabetes therapies (orals, injectables, insulin, etc.)
  • Support patients on all diabetes technologies (pumps, CGM, connected pen, apps, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree required
  • Active MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) license in at least one state
  • Board Certification
  • Active DEA license
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team
  • Strong computer skills
  • Expertise with supporting patients on diabetes therapies (orals, injectables, insulin, etc.)
  • Expertise with supporting patients on diabetes technologies (pumps, CGM, connected pens, apps, etc.)
  • Proficient with EMR platforms and medical billing
