As of Jul 3, 2026, the average hourly pay for part time remote lmsw in the United States is $42.66, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $31.25 and $56.97 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Part Time Remote LMSW, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Remote LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker), you need a master’s degree in social work, LMSW licensure, and a solid understanding of counseling and case management principles. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, electronic documentation systems, and secure communication tools is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and cultural competence help professionals connect with clients and manage independent, remote work. These skills and qualifications are crucial for providing effective client support and maintaining professional standards in a virtual environment.

How can I make $2000 a week working from home?

A Part Time Remote LMSW can increase earnings by taking on multiple clients, offering specialized services, or working for agencies that pay higher rates. Building a strong online presence, obtaining relevant certifications, and utilizing telehealth platforms can also help maximize income. However, earning $2000 weekly part-time may require additional freelance or consulting work outside standard hours.

Can you make $200,000 as a social worker?

A part-time remote Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) typically earns between $40,000 and $70,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and employer. Earning $200,000 in a part-time LMSW role is unlikely without additional income sources or advanced specialization, as most social workers' salaries are below that level even with full-time work. High earnings may require transitioning into private practice, consulting, or taking on leadership roles with higher compensation.

What jobs make $3,000 a day?

High-earning roles such as specialized medical professionals, top-tier consultants, or successful entrepreneurs can earn $3,000 or more daily. Some freelance or remote professionals, including experienced LMSW social workers with private practice or consulting, may reach this level with significant experience and client volume, but such earnings are uncommon and typically require advanced skills and a strong client base.

How to make $1000 a week remotely?

A part-time remote LMSW can increase earnings by taking on multiple clients, offering specialized services, or working for agencies that pay per session. Building a strong online presence, obtaining relevant certifications, and utilizing telehealth platforms can help reach higher weekly income targets. Consistent scheduling and marketing can also boost earning potential to $1000 or more per week.

What are part-time remote LMSWs?

Part-time remote LMSWs are Licensed Master Social Workers who provide social work services while working fewer hours than a standard full-time position, and do so from a remote location, such as their home. These professionals typically support clients via telehealth platforms, phone, or secure online communication. Part-time remote LMSWs can work in various fields, including mental health, healthcare, school settings, or private practices, and their responsibilities may include assessments, counseling, case management, and connecting clients to resources. This flexible arrangement allows LMSWs to balance work with other commitments while still making a significant difference in clients’ lives.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time remote LMSWs, and how can they be managed?

Part-time remote LMSWs often encounter challenges such as maintaining clear communication with clients and colleagues, managing boundaries between work and personal life, and ensuring access to necessary resources for virtual sessions. To address these, it's helpful to establish consistent communication routines, set up a dedicated and private workspace, and leverage secure telehealth platforms provided by your employer. Staying connected with your team through regular virtual meetings and peer supervision can also help reduce feelings of isolation and support professional growth.

Job description

Licensed Mental Health Therapist — Part-Time
Remote · Virginia License Required

We're growing our Virginia team. We're looking for therapists who want meaningful part-time work — without the full-time pressure.

Backpack Healthcare provides mental health care for children, teens, and young adults — all online, covered by most insurance. We're clinician-led and minority-owned, and we know that great clinicians come in all configurations. Some are supplementing a private practice. Some are balancing family life. Some just want consistent evening hours doing work that matters.

Whatever your reason for wanting part-time, this role is built around it.

What this role looks like

You'll carry a caseload of 15–22 sessions per week, providing individual and family therapy via telehealth. Most of our clinicians work weekday afternoons and evenings (2–9 PM) — right when kids and teens are available after school. Weekend availability is a plus. You set the schedule. We handle referrals and admin.

Day-to-day you'll:

  • Conduct intakes and build client-centered, trauma-informed treatment plans
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team — therapists, PMHNPs, and psychiatrists working together
  • Maintain timely documentation in our EHR
  • Support families with education and care coordination, not just the child in the room

What we offer

  • $65/billable hour — LCSW or LPC (fully licensed)
  • $45/billable hour — LMSW or LPC-R (supervision provided)
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • $300 annual CEU reimbursement
  • Free clinical supervision for eligible licenses
  • $25,000 company-paid life insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Option to grow into full-time or supervisory roles if that's ever where you want to go

What we're looking for

  • Active Virginia license: LPC, LPC-R, LCSW, or LMSW
  • Experience with children, teens, and families
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
  • Bilingual English/Spanish — strongly preferred
  • Committed to trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice

Who we are

We've served 12,000+ kids and families since 2020. 78% of families report their child is doing better after three months. We're not going to promise we're perfect — but we're serious about building a team where clinicians actually want to stay.

When clinicians thrive, kids thrive. That's not a tagline. It's how we build.

Backpack Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity in age, background, identity, and experience — and we mean it.
