Job description

Facet was founded in 2016 on the belief that objective, personalized financial advice is essential to living well. Our mission is to empower people to live more enriched lives by delivering a new standard of advice. By removing asset minimums, we provide holistic planning that goes far beyond investments to address every way money impacts life. Our team of CFP® professionals are at the core of our service and are empowered by our best-in-class support teams and proprietary technology platform. This model allows Facet to integrate advice into our members' entire financial picture-all for an affordable, flat membership fee.
Our commitment to innovation and member success has earned national recognition, including being ranked the #1 Best Financial Advisory Firm 2025 by USA TODAY and named to Newsweek's list of America's Top Financial Advisory Firms 2025. With an A+ BBB Rating and a Trustpilot "Excellent" score (as of Sept. 16, 2025), we are proud to be redefining the industry for our members and our team alike.
Why Facet? The Future of Financial Planning
The Senior Financial Planner role at Facet is unlike any other in the industry. We've stripped away the "old way" of doing business-no cold calling, no commission-chasing, and no mountains of paperwork. We've created a role focused entirely on why you became a planner in the first place: to hone your craft and change lives.
What Makes This Role Different?
  • Sell Life Change, Not Products: We've eliminated the pressure of business development. You aren't a salesperson for a fund; you are a catalyst for behavior change. Because we utilize a flat-fee model (not AUM-based), your advice is always objective. If a member should pay down debt instead of investing, that's exactly what you'll tell them.
  • Focus on the Member, Not Paperwork: We've built a proprietary, AI-enabled tech stack and a dedicated support ecosystem (Trading & Operations, Planner Support, and Member Experience) to take the administrative burden off your plate. You don't gather onboarding data or execute trades; you build relationships.
  • Join a Movement: We operate with a "One Facet" mentality-a flat, non-hierarchical structure that eliminates silos. You aren't just joining a company; you're joining a community of growth-seekers redefining an underserved industry.

Your Impact & Responsibilities
As a Sr. Financial Planner, you will act as a financial life coach and guide, helping members make sense of their financial lives through actionable, technology-backed advice.
  • Conduct 4-6 virtual member meetings per day, motivating members to take action on recommendations that are in their absolute best interest.
  • Rapidly build trust and credibility in a remote setting, fostering long-term relationships through a consistent, high-quality experience.
  • Emphasize the importance of integrated solutions-including investments-as a part of a holistic life plan.
  • Partner with our Trading and Investment Ops teams to manage portfolios and tax strategies, while providing feedback to help improve our proprietary planning tools.
  • Efficiently manage your calendar and time to provide an organized experience for your members while staying adaptable to the fast-paced energy of a scaling firm.

Who You Are
  • A Passionate Advocate: You love helping people reach their goals and thrive when working with a large volume of members.
  • A Tech Champion: You fully embrace technology and AI-driven tools to enhance your efficiency and the member experience.
  • Adaptable & Organized: You are process-oriented but not afraid of the hard work that comes with disrupting a legacy industry.
  • A Relationship Builder: You can build deep connections quickly in a virtual environment.

Requirements
  • CFP® Designation (Required)
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday (approximately 6 hours/day)
  • 3+ years of member-facing financial planning experience.
  • Exceptional written communication and typing skills (speed and accuracy are key).
  • Exceptional time and calendar management skills-this is the primary driver of success at Facet.
  • Must NOT be registered with another firm or working in a capacity of conflict of interest
  • Reside in the US (MST or PST time zones preferred).

Benefits
  • $82,500 - $97,500 base salary determined by the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant - Please note, our salary ranges are based on current market data. Should you feel strongly that we are not in line, we highly recommend you to reach out and let us know. We are always looking to improve on building the best place for employees.
  • Equity (ISO): it is important to us that all employees are shareholders in our mission
  • Flexible PTO
  • All the benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, short and long term disability coverage (paid by Facet), life insurance options and paid parental leave
  • Certification reimbursement program
  • Work from anywhere in the US
