Background Investigator (Part-time) Location: Seattle, Washington (Remote work arrangements available). Concentric is a global risk consultancy specializing in strategic security and intelligence services for private clients and corporations worldwide. We offer strategic advisory, risk assessments, physical protection, threat intelligence, openโ€source monitoring, program audits, secure embedded staffing, and training for security teams and intelligence analysts.

Job Description A Background Investigator and Interviewer conducts and compiles personal and professional background investigations and reinvestigations for Concentric Advisors' potential staff members and clients. Duties include interviewing employers, coโ€workers, neighbors, personal references; conducting online court and criminal records searches; and preparing report narratives on each case.

The investigator also conducts subject interviews and completes narrative reports for each case. Objective The investigator will perform background checks, consumer investigative reports, and onโ€screen interviews, following a preset set of components per case. The role provides security advice and guidance to the security team related to corporate personnel and client entities, while developing analytic and communication skills across investigative fields.

Responsibilities Read, comprehend, and interpret detailed, complex written material. Prepare clear, concise written reports. Analyze complex ideas or activities into smaller parts; simultaneously consider numerous facts, perceive patterns, and interpret information.

Manage time to prioritize and combine investigations when practicable to ensure timely completion. Handle several cases concurrently. Apply appropriate investigative techniques to frame a reflective image of the candidate's background.

Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, coworkers, candidates, and the public. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity through tact and courtesy when dealing with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Work cooperatively as part of a team.

Listen on the telephone, as required, to pay close attention to what is being said and ask followโ€up questions. Keep interviews focused on the task at hand and cover all required material. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Required Qualifications Must legally work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, psychology, or a related field. 10 years of handsโ€on background investigation experience.

Preferred Qualifications Current or former U.S. Government background investigator or multiโ€disciplined security officer with a Top Secret U.S. Federal Government Clearance.

Professional certifications in physical security, personnel security, cyber protection, or acquisition disciplines. Experience as CIA/FBI polygrapher; MDSO; DCSA investigator; DCSA subject interviewer; security adjudicator. Compensation & Benefits 401(k) with employer match and immediate vesting.
