Since 1972, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based, culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs and services for children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders. Job Summary:

The Psychology Intern provides mental health services to a diverse population of children and adults, including intake assessments and individual or group therapy. This role specializes in the administration and interpretation of psychological testing to provide diagnostic clarity and guide treatment planning. Working under clinical supervision, the Psychology Intern ensures high-quality, trauma-informed care through collaborative care coordination and detailed clinical documentation.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

1. Conduct mental health intake assessments on-site, virtually and off-site.

2. Provide individual and/or group therapy to children and/or adults.

3. Provide consultation to other staff.

4. Coordinate care for clients with other team members.

5. Complete all written chart notes, care plans, transfers, and discharges within expected time frame C.

7. Complete psychological assessments, as assigned.

8. Attend staff meetings, as assigned.

9. Attend intern supervision and seminars.

10. Complete and participate in the creation and updating of treatment plans.

11. Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions or consultation as needed.

12. Adhere to ethical guidelines, HIPAA & confidentiality standards, and agency policies and procedures.

13. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  1. Current enrollment in a Psy.D. or Ph.D. program (clinical or school psychology) is required.
  2. Must hold an active RAAC, LMHCA, or Psychology Associate license.
  3. Training and experience in psychological assessment is required, including administration and interpretation of standardized instruments such as the WAIS 5, WISC V, WMS IV, IVA 2, MMPI 3, and assessment batteries for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  4. Experience working with a variety of therapeutic models and conducting multi-dimensional assessments and interventions with participants, families, and relevant systems (e.g., family, peers, school, neighborhood).
  5. Demonstrated ability to engage and involve families in the treatment process and apply participant and family centered, strengths-based practice principles.
  6. Ability and willingness to work effectively with diverse participants, families, co-workers, and community service providers.
  7. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with community members and other service systems, including referral sources.
  8. Knowledge of community resources and referral and follow up processes.
  9. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  10. Familiarity with Credible preferred.
