Your Opportunity
Your role is to work with general supervision and direction on average sized projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Project Engineer.
You will be responsible for daily inspection efforts on multiple complex, large, and/or diverse projects in order to ensure contractor's operations comply with project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Inspects and reviews projects during construction, monitoring conformance with plans, specifications, and other codes and regulations
  • Monitors the progress of construction activities, ensuring cost, schedule and quality standards are met.
  • Generates daily inspector reports documenting construction activities activities, utilizing eConstruction processes, records and notifies supervisor regarding of any non-conforming work
  • Inspects and documents contractor's construction activities including: maintenance of traffic, excavation, drainage systems, erosion/sediment/control, Hot Mix Asphalt and Concrete pavement, miscellaneous structures and calculates quantities and costs.
  • Examines construction materials, checking to see if they meet specifications.
  • Reviews plans, specifications, submittals, construction schedules, shop drawings and pay applications.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

  • Basic skills in math, drafting, and science.
  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation.
  • Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the team.
  • Effectively communicates project issues with contractor, project team and clients.

Education and Experience
  • High School / Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and construction experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:
• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 66,800.00 - Max Salary $ 93,500.00
• Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA, VA Areas-$71,600.00 - $100,300.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
