Job description

Security Officer – Private School Campus
Part-Time | $17.00 per Hour
Job Overview
We are seeking a professional, dependable, and highly observant Security Officer to provide safety and security services at a private school campus in Houston, TX 77091. This is a part-time position with strict hours of 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with no exceptions.
The ideal candidate must have prior school officer experience and be capable of maintaining a safe, controlled, and professional environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This role requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to remain actively engaged throughout the shift.
The selected officer must be very good at maintaining ceaseless activity, meaning continuous, constant attentiveness and movement without unnecessary interruption or downtime, especially in monitoring, patrolling, and staying alert to surroundings at all times.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine and active patrols of school grounds, parking areas, buildings, and assigned zones to deter suspicious activity
  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the campus
  • Monitor and operate CCTV surveillance systems and other security equipment
  • Control access points and enforce visitor procedures and campus safety policies
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents
  • Assist with student safety concerns and address conflicts using professional de-escalation techniques
  • Work closely with school administration, staff, and law enforcement when necessary
  • Document incidents, observations, and actions clearly, accurately, and on time
  • Remain engaged in ceaseless activity by consistently patrolling, observing, monitoring, and securing assigned areas during the entire shift
Qualifications / Experience
  • Must possess a valid Texas security license as required for the position
  • Prior school officer experience is required
  • Law enforcement or military background is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of patrol procedures, campus safety, and emergency response
  • Experience with surveillance systems (CCTV) and security reporting
  • Ability to stay calm, alert, and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with students, parents, staff, and visitors
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be able to work 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, no exceptions
Work Environment
This position is located at an active school campus in Houston, TX 77091. Officers must be comfortable working around students and maintaining a professional, approachable, and authoritative presence at all times.
