Job description

Maintenance Technician
Willowrun Veterinary Hospital is hiring a part-time Maintenance Technician to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. If you are enthusiastic, reliable, and excited about helping us maintain our high standards of animal care and customer service, we would love to hear from you!

Salary: $14-$15 an hour dependent on experience and skills
Schedule: 15-20 hours per week- Monday- Friday 7:30AM-5:30PM, every other Saturday 8AM-1PM
Who are we looking for?
Applicants must have a professional work ethic, positive personality, excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast paced environment, be a team player and have a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients and clients. Prefer applicants to have veterinary experience, but will consider the desire to learn from the right individual.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
  • General maintenance and repairs throughout the hospital. This includes changing light bulbs, minor fixture repair, cleaning (sweeping, dusting,mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming facility spaces; emptying trash containers; bathrooms; etc.).
  • Cleaning equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies; understands the importance of safety of use of chemicals in our facility. Closely follows OSHA regulations and Safety guidelines.
  • Collect Recycling from all areas of the hospital
  • Window Cleaning
  • Maintain grounds in a clean and presentable fashion. We employ a lawn service, but general cleanliness and maintenance of the grounds is required. This includes weeding, watering plants, shrub maintenance
  • Maintain building interior and exterior, contacting specific contractors when necessary
  • Complete the daily walkthrough maintenance list
  • Stock exam rooms, unpack inventory.
  • Sterilize surgery suite daily
  • Painting and touch-ups of interior rooms, exterior surfaces as needed
  • Maintaining medical and non-medical inventory and notifies the Practice Manager of purchase needs
  • Notifies Practice Manager concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting
  • Perform minor and routine plumbing and other related maintenance activities
  • Cleaning and maintenance experience REQUIRED
  • Must have strong time management skills, ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must be willing to help hospital staff when and where needed
