Part Time, Nights

Position Summary

The Women's Services RN provides high quality, safe, cost effective, total nursing care to post partum patients and neonates by utilizing the nursing process. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on need of the patient and family members. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, Infection control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. The RN utilizes evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards and adheres to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act. The RN reviews orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in electronic health record. The Women's Services RN will provide care in a family centered environment where mothers and newborns remain together for the duration of their hospital stay. This position is also responsible for delivery room attendance, and stabilization of the well newborn.

The RN will be able to apply FHR monitor and interpret FHR tracing. The RN will be able to care for both low risk and high risk antepartum/intrapartum and postpartum mothers. The RN will have the ability to recognize abnormal FHR patterns and implement appropriate intervention. The RN will have the ability to care for patients experiencing perinatal loss. The RN will have the ability to care for patients undergoing C/S, Tubal ligation and cerclage. The RN will have the ability to care for patients on tocolytic drugs and cervical ripening agents. The RN will demonstrate the ability to circulate on all surgical cases in the LDRP OR.

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum: Graduate of an RN program
    Preferred: Bachelor's of Science in Nursing

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum: One (1) year experience in a Med/Surg area or in nursery/mother baby/Labor and Delivery unit preferred

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

  • Florida RN License
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS
  • NRP at hire or within 90 days of start date for inexperienced RN
