Company Overview:Jackson Hospital's history is integral to the history of medicine in Central Alabama. The hospital's origin dates back to 1894 when Watkins Infirmary received its first patients at the hospital's present location. On September 16, 1946, Jackson Hospital opened with 37 patient beds and five attending physicians.

Today, licensed for 344 beds, Jackson Hospital is a community not-for-profit hospital serving Montgomery and the Alabama River Region. Our comprehensive healthcare services include cardiac, neurosciences, urology, orthopedics and women's and children's care, along with 24-hour emergency services. Even with our leading-edge technology and facilities, we remain true to our mission of providing superior personal healthcare in a safe, compassionate environment.

Under the direction of the CNO/COO, theDirectoris responsible on a 24-hour basis for the planning and comprehensive operations ofthe Emergency Departmentensuring compliance with hospital and nursing mission, goals, philosophy, policies and procedures. TheDirectorutilizes the nursing process in the delivery of patient care and ensures quality care is provided through appropriate allocation of human resources, maintaining financial control of the unit, and serving as a liaison between administration and staff.The Jackson Emergency Department is a 29 bed State designated Level 3 Trauma center, with Primary Stroke Certification and Acute MI Certification.The Emergency Department has approximately 80 FTE'sincluding an Educator, 2 managers and an Administrative Assistant.

This individualmust demonstrate personal and professional responsibility; participate in creating an atmosphere of mutual trust, acceptance, recognition and respect; and assume responsibility for own professional development. Unrestricted AL or Multi State RN license and BSN required,Master'sDegree preferred

  • Minimum 2 yearscomparable Director level experience required includingOperations and Personnel experience
  • 5 years RN EDclinical experience required
  • Knowledge and experience with Meaningful Use, Value Based Purchasing and HCAHPS
  • Must demonstrate personal and professional responsibility

  • LEAN exerience or training preferred
