PICKLEBALL INSTRUCTOR
Reports To: Golf General Manager Department: Pro Shop
Classification: Part Time Division: Golf Course
JOB SUMMARY:
The Pickleball Instructor will design and implement pickleball programs, leagues, and clinics. This role emphasizes adult programs while incorporating youth activities.
POSITION AUTHORITY:
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.
POSITION GUIDELINES:
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide excellent customer services, professional advice and assistance to guests.
  • Design and lead pickleball programs, leagues, and clinics for adults and youth.
  • Instruct participants on fundamental pickleball techniques, strategies, and rules while fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Ensure proper court set-up and perform opening and closing duties
  • Teach pickleball classes, private lessons, and workshops.
  • Provide constructive feedback to help participants improve their pickleball skills.
  • Maintain cleanliness of pickleball courts and report any maintenance needs.
  • Order, inspect and maintain proper equipment
  • Maintain attendance records for all classes, leagues, and clinics.
  • Support promotional events or social media campaigns as needed.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Thorough knowledge of the sport of pickleball, including; rules, techniques, and safety standards

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Must be reliable and responsible
  • Ability to ask for help when needed
  • Exceptional customer service skills, a wonderful, warm personality, very organized, and a detail oriented.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions- often high heat
