JOB SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for assisting in the management and execution of daily pickleball operations for the facility. It will be a hybrid of on-court responsibilities and administrative responsibilities as they relate to the Pickleball Programs. This person is required to work closely with the General Manager establishing and maintaining open lines of communication with these individuals. This position is not eligible for remote work. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design, promote, and execute pickleball programs, leagues, and events that encourage recurring participation and grow the game of pickleball across all age groups
  • Manage the pickleball section of the StarCenter Multisport's webpage to ensure information is updated accordingly
  • Coordinate, schedule, and verify past game results and upcoming game schedules in corresponding software and confirm with scorekeepers and referees
  • Create and maintain a customer contact list for communication purposes
  • Maintain and review the Pickleball Pro list
  • Ensure that all pickleball programs follow rules and guidelines
  • Assist in processing registrations and collecting payments by applicable due dates for all pickleball programs
  • Communicate with new and existing customers regarding program notifications and participant evaluations


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide supervision to guest services      staff and educate on proper registration and check in procedures for pickleball      programs
  • Scout and interview new pickleball      team members, ensuring the completion of their training and onboarding
  • Promote special events and      activities within the facility

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree preferred 
  • Knowledge of pickleball structures, rules, and league designs is required
  • Qualified to coach pickleball mechanics and strategy is strongly preferred
  • A functional knowledge of business practices and terminology
  • Excellent organization and communication skills with a willingness to learn
  • Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Flexibility and availability to interact with employees and customers at all levels
  • Preferred technical skills include Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling, and a general knowledge of technical jargon
  • Must be able to regularly work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events


Physical Demands and Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to an office environment, with noise levels usually moderate.
