Lead Pickleball Pro & Community Coordinator - The Serve
Work Mode: Onsite
Location: Kohler, WI
Opportunity
The Community Coordinator & Lead Pro is the on-court leader and community builder for The Serve-a premier racquet sport facility. In this role, you will shape the player experience by leading leagues, social programming, and instruction across pickleball and platform tennis.
You will play a key role in building an engaging, welcoming community while driving participation, supporting tournaments, and helping grow membership. This is a highly visible position that blends coaching, programming, and leadership.
You will report to the Racquet Sports Director and partner closely with Sports Core tennis staff and The Serve Facility and Guest Service leadership team.
Specific Responsibilities
Community Building, Programming & Engagement
  • Lead and manage league schedules, social programming, and events to build community and drive participation
  • Serve as a visible on-court leader, building strong relationships with members, guests, and staff
  • Partner with facility leadership and Marketing to execute events, promote programming, and deliver a seamless guest experience
  • Monitor participation trends and feedback to continuously improve programming and increase engagement

Instruction, Coaching & Player Development
  • Deliver private, semi-private, and group lessons, along with clinics and drills for all ages and skill levels
  • Create clear player development pathways and ensure consistent, high-quality instruction across all staff
  • Maintain organized, safe court environments and model exceptional service standards

Tournaments, Events & On-Court Operations
  • Support tournaments and events through scheduling, match flow, player communication, and on-court coordination
  • Assist with draws, seeding, and event execution while ensuring a positive and well-organized experience
  • Address real-time needs during events with a proactive, service-focused approach

Membership Growth, Revenue & Programming Success
  • Build relationships with participants and help convert engagement into membership growth
  • Drive program participation through well-designed leagues, clinics, and social offerings
  • Support retail needs and assist with tracking key performance metrics, including participation and revenue

Team Leadership, Staffing & Operations
  • Schedule, manage, and develop pickleball and platform tennis staff to ensure strong coverage and consistent instruction quality
  • Hire, train, and coach team members, while partnering with Sports Core tennis leadership on shared staffing opportunities
  • Maintain accurate program scheduling and records, ensure safe operations, and support ongoing improvements to programming and guest experience

Skills/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or Sports Management preferred but not required.
  • At least 3 years teaching/coaching experience in racquet sports with high-volume group instruction experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build community and grow leagues/programs through relationship building and strong service behaviors.
  • Experience supporting tournaments/events, including on-court logistics, scheduling, and participant communication.
  • Prior supervisory experience (scheduling, coaching staff, program operations) preferred.
  • Certifications preferred/encouraged: USA Pickleball-aligned coach certifications (e.g., PPR/PCI/RSPA) and/or platform tennis professional development; ability to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid shortly after hire.
  • Must have a wide knowledge on the pickleball industry with a high passion of teaching and program development, driving participation in events and building a community.
  • Pay will be based on years of experience.
  • Commission level is set based on experience- range of 40%-$52%. Hourly admin rate is for off court work.

Total compensation for this position includes a commission based on a percentage of individual sales, as well as an hourly rate for administrative functions. The specific commission earned may be influenced by a variety of factors.
