Job Description Summary

The Photography/Videography Assistant is part of the University Communications team and works with the Director of External Communications and Social Media, the Communications Manager, and Social Media Student Ambassadors on photo and video projects. This student will frequently manage photo shoots independently and is expected to be a self-starter with a strong eye for storytelling. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, collaborative, and receptive to direction and constructive feedback
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Photograph campus events and planned shoots as assigned by University Communications.
• Edit and archive photos in the office following each assignment.
• Assist with video shoots, audio recording, and editing/archiving of video and audio content as needed.
• Maintain punctuality and professionalism at all events and during office hours.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
• Federal Work Study eligibility required.
• Experience with photography and photo editing.
• Proficiency with digital SLR cameras, manual camera/lens settings, and Photoshop.
• Professional demeanor; comfortable working independently and in crowded environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with lighting and advanced camera techniques.
• Experience with video and audio recording and editing.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and/or Audition.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
Applicants will be contacted by the Office of University Communications for an interview. A portfolio is strongly encouraged.
Physical Demands:
May require some lifting, up to 25 pounds. Ability to attend/conduct video/photo shoots on campus during the week, evenings, and weekends depending on schedules.
