Job Summary: 

BC Kids Camp Specialist assists with the organizing and leading of indoor and outdoor activities for children ages 5-12 years old. The Specialist Child Care Attendant is responsible for creating a fun and safe learning environment for participants. They will partner with subject matter experts on that week’s camp topics. Guides will speak with the parents of the participants at the beginning and end of each day to set expectations and summarize the day’s accomplishments.

This position is expected to work 32-40 hours per week for the duration of the kid’s camp programs for full time and 15- 20 hours for part time.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for children of all ages.
  • Know and follow regulations for School-Aged Day Camp.
  • First Aid and CPR certified through onboard training and Certified in Medication Administration
  • Understand the special needs of children in an outdoor environment.
  • Assist children at lunch and snack time and all other supervision times.
  • Assist in operational responsibilities of the program including but not limited to registration, maintaining outdoor teaching areas, cleanliness of facilities, co-worker and parent communication as needed to provide the best guest experience.
  • Responsible for the overall safety of the children and guests.
  • To further promote and act as role model in the area of responsibility code, safety and risk awareness as prescribed by resort’s safety policies.
  • Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.
  • Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures of the Resort Handbook and the Best Practices of the Department
  • Other duties as assigned 

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Microsoft Office programs, ability to learn the basics of photo editing software
  • Fluent in English
  • Preferred experience working with children in outdoor settings.
  • The workday includes both indoor and outdoor
  • May lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must pass CBI check 

The expected pay range is $20.00/hr - $22.19/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
