Job description

Job Summary
The College of Innovation & Technology is looking for social media content creators to highlight student life and campus life for social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter (X), TikTok, as well as other emerging social media platforms. Please review CIT social media posts prior to applying for examples, and prepare a portfolio of screenshots of your social media content for the hiring committee to review.
Responsibilities*
  • Sourcing and creation of organic social media content, including photo, video, and text for posts - minimum of one post per week
  • Work with social media manager to schedule postings
  • Video editing of raw footage for social media
  • Photo editing for social media
  • Networking with CIT faculty, staff, other students, and student clubs and organizations to collect information for content creation
  • Social media takeovers
  • Attending meetings biweekly to discuss social media strategy

Required Qualifications*
  • Must be a current UM-Flint student, graduate or undergraduate
  • Must be comfortable being filmed and included in social media content, specifically videos
  • Must be and stay up to date on social media best practices and trends.
  • Must be responsive to emails and reply promptly, and have good communication skills
  • Must have a willingness to attend CIT functions, events, etc.

Desired Qualifications*
  • Collaborative and willing to take direction, be open to feedback
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to follow marketing and branding requirements
  • Video and photo editing skills
  • Experience with Canva and Capcut preferred

Modes of Work
Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
