Job description

Cook  

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Part-time-Per Diem position that would float between Banquet Line Cook, Bar/Restaurant and Breakfast Buffet cook depending on need.
  • Assist Banquet Cook in food preparation for events up to 100 attendees.
  • Bar Cook will prepare limited Bar menu dishes utilizing Merry Chef cooking process. No deep frying or flat-top cooking involved. 
  • Breakfast Cook/Hostess sets up and prepares Breakfast Buffet item. No made to order breakfast items. 
  • Set up food for serving, serves food according to prescribed manner, cleans utensils and equipment before, during and after serving. 
  • Performs food preparation or final processing of simple salads, desserts, vegetables, etc., by cutting up items of food, dishing out portions, wrapping, labeling and rotating food.
  • Sets up condiment areas, salad, dessert and hot food counters; maintains adequate supply; and keeps area clean. Stores condiments and leftovers in a sanitary manner.
  • Checks need for replacement of deleted or shortage of items and notifies proper personnel.
  • Maintains proper housekeeping, sanitation and safety standards in work area, including washing of table service implements, serving and preparation utensils, and food transporters. 
  • Be willing to cross train as Breakfast and Social cook to cover vacations.
  • Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  • Be at work consistently and on time; Arrive at meetings on time

Qualifications:

  • Must be Available for weekend shifts 
    •  Shift flexibility
  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
  • Servsafe Certified preferred. 
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time 
  • Reliable and consistent transportation!!

  • Good written and verbal skills
