Position: Part Time School Nurse
Position Summary
Inspire Academy is seeking a compassionate, organized, and student-centered Part-Time School Nurse to support the health and well-being of students and staff. The School Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care, managing student health plans, maintaining compliance with state and school health requirements, and promoting a safe and healthy learning environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide nursing assessment, first aid, and emergency care to students and staff.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, school policy, and state regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Health Plans (IHPs) and emergency care plans for students with chronic health conditions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.
- Monitor student immunization compliance and required health screenings.
- Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and school staff to support student health needs.
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate appropriate follow-up care.
- Promote health education and wellness initiatives throughout the school community.
- Ensure compliance with Indiana Department of Health requirements and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintain medical supplies and equipment and ensure the health office remains organized and properly stocked.
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding student health concerns, communicable diseases, and medical accommodations.
- Participate in school safety planning and emergency preparedness as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or a related medical field.
- Current, unrestricted Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license or other applicable professional licensure.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in pediatric, public health, community health, or school nursing.
- Knowledge of Indiana school health requirements and student health regulations.
- Experience managing student health records and medication administration.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 pounds, and respond quickly to medical emergencies.
- Ability to perform nursing duties requiring manual dexterity and mobility throughout the school building.
Work Schedule
- Part-time position with a flexible schedule during the regular school year. Hours will be determined based on student needs and school operations
