Private Duty Pediatric Nurse (RN or LVN) - Home Health

Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Night Shiftย  6:30 PM-4:30 AM |Up to 30 hours per week
Location: West Houston / Energy Corridor

Private Duty Pediatric Nurse - RN/LVN

MedCare Pediatric Group is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide one-on-one pediatric private duty nursing care in a home health setting.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate Pediatric RN, Pediatric LVN, Home Health Nurse, Private Duty Nurse, or Private Duty RN/LVN seeking a consistent night shift schedule and meaningful one-on-one patient care.

The selected nurse will provide skilled nursing care to a pediatric patient with complex medical needs in the West Houston / Energy Corridor area.

  • Night Shift: 6:30 PM-4:30 AM

Private Duty Nursing Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled one-on-one nursing care in the patient's home.
  • Monitor and assess seizure activity and neurological status.
  • Implement seizure precautions and patient safety measures.
  • Administer prescribed medications, including rescue medications, as ordered.
  • Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and adverse reactions.
  • Observe, assess, and document changes in the patient's condition.
  • Assist with bowel management and scheduled or PRN interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Provide caregiver education and support.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Respond appropriately to changes in the patient's condition and seizure activity.
RN/LVN Qualifications
  • Current Texas RN or LVN license in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Current auto liability insurance.
  • Minimum of 6 months of pediatric nursing experience in a home health setting is required.
  • Experience with pediatric private duty nursing preferred.
  • Experience caring for patients with seizure disorders or neurological conditions preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience with VNS therapy is a plus.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently in a home health setting.
