Position Summary

Rogerโ€™s Gardens is seeking a Part-Time Payroll Assistant to support accurate, timely, and confidential payroll processing for approximately 100 employees.

This position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and follow-through. The Payroll Assistant will work closely with Human Resources, Accounting, and managers throughout the organization to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.

The ideal candidate will have prior payroll experience, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and compensation information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with biweekly payroll processing for approximately 100 employees
  • Review employee timecards and timesheets for accuracy and completeness
  • Audit hours, overtime, vacation/PTO, sick time, and other payroll-related information
  • Enter and maintain payroll data in the companyโ€™s Paycom system
  • Process payroll adjustments, corrections, and other payroll transactions
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records
  • Respond to employee questions regarding paychecks, deductions, timekeeping, PTO, and other payroll matters
  • Coordinate with managers to resolve timekeeping and payroll discrepancies
  • Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and reconciliation
  • Support payroll-related compliance requirements and recordkeeping
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll, compensation, and employee information
  • Provide general administrative support to Human Resources and Accounting as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll experience preferred
  • Experience processing payroll for a small- to mid-sized organization
  • Experience with Paycom or another HRIS/payroll system strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of payroll practices and California wage-and-hour requirements
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and independently follow through to resolution
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting, payroll, or HR education is a plus

Schedule

Part-time, approximately 20โ€“24 hours per week.

Schedule can be structured around the payroll cycle, with availability on key payroll processing days required. Some flexibility in scheduling is possible for the right candidate.

Compensation

$25.00โ€“$29.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
